Now that we are officially in hellatus, we will need to be keeping ourselves busy and thinking about something other than 6 weeks without Supernatural. As we end Thursday and the last episode of Supernatural for a while, we also end the viewing period for the banners entered in this years Banner Contest. The voting period has now begun, so head over to the Banner Poll Page to chime in on which banner you think should be the "official" Supernatural Fan Wiki banner!
Voting Period will last until November 29th at midnight (12:00am) EST. At that time, the poll will end and the new banner will be displayed and announced.

Coverage of the Chicago Supernatural Convention

Last week, we saw a humorous episode about a Supernatural convention. Weren't those Dean impersonations hilarious? Well, Maureen Ryan at The Chicago Tribune recently attended a real convention and offered some great coverage here.
No, killer ghosts didn't attack, but she did get some great interviews with Misha Collins and Jim Beaver. Here is an excerpt of her conversation with Jim:
MR: Yeah, it seems as though pieces are being put in place for later in the season.
JB: That's what I'm thinking. It's always hard. If you're writing a play, the third act is always the hardest act. If you're writing a book, the final chapters are the hardest, because you've got to draw everything together. I'm not saying this is the final chapter, but it was originally conceived as the final [season].
Anything that happens after this season is going to be a new idea, in some sense. So we've got this big [thing] -- we've got the Apocalypse! The only real mysteries left are how to approach what's happening and the decisions that have to be made.
It's like when you see a film and the idea is that the [main] character is a brilliant painter or poet or musician. And then in the movie you see the person's paintings and poetry or hear the music and you think, "Eh, we get that he's supposed to be brilliant, but that -- not so much." It's because sometimes you set yourself up to do something that's really, really hard to do.
I have never set foot in the writers' room, but my guess is, they're working harder this season than ever before, because they've built an obstacle that they have to resolve -- and resolve well. You can't pussyfoot around the Apocalypse. This can't be Bobby stepping out of the shower in "Dallas."
MR: It's only, "Depict or head off the Apocalypse. And find God."
JB: Yeah.
MR: And most shows -- they've all done that season, right?
JB: Yeah, I remember when "Cheers" did that. [laughter]

This Thursday, November 19, it's a hunters' reunion with Dean, Sam, Ellen, Jo, Bobby, and Castiel all trying to find and retrieve the Colt. And apparently it's a demon's reunion too, as Lucifer and his wing man Crowley (plus their assorted minions) try to stop them. Who will emerge victorious? Watch the latest videos and check out the episode page!
This is the last episode of 2009, and it promises to offer a cliffhanger that we can all ponder until the series returns on January 21, 2010. Well, I'm guessing this hiatus can't be as bad as having to wait to see how Dean gets sprung from hell ... or can it???

| Supernatural Fans Support "A Dog's Life Rescue"

 Hey Supernatural fans! For those of you who, like Jared, love and support dogs and dog rescues here is a way to help. A Dog's Life Rescue has started a fundraising campaign to raise money for dogs in tribute of Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, two animal lovers.
So far, the fundraising has raised over $5,000 MORE than their goal of $10,000, making their total, as of right now, $15,542.56 going to the dogs! But rescuing and caring for the pups at A Dogs Life Rescue is a lot of money and they are always looking for more, so if you love dogs, and support Supernatural, then head over to the Support Supernatural Campaign and donate! Every dollar counts!

| Two More Weeks of Supernatural in 2009

It's sad but true ... our days are numbered! The number is TWO. This week, we get The Real Ghostbusters on November 12. Next week, we get the ominously titled Abandon All Hope on November 19.  After that, we get *long agonized scream* Hellatus! We'll need to amuse ourselves otherwise as we await 2010 and the start-up of new SPN episodes.
Not to worry! The Supernatural Fan Wiki has plenty of ways for members to stay sane and happy until the new episodes arrive! Talk to other members and make new friends, comment on past episodes and seasons, play thread games and the RPG, check out the trivia, fanfic, and member art ... and much more! So, when Hellatus arrives, don't leave (OK, maybe just to eat some turkey or unwrap some gifts); stay and play!

Jenna Busch recently interviewed Misha Collins for The Huffington Post and he's charming, as always. Busch is obviously a fangirl, as she asks about Cas' love life... or lack thereof. Misha responded:

 Awe, c'mon! Our beloved Jensen Ackles, out of circulation? Oh well ... you know, he's been out of circulation for nearly three years, which is how long he and Daneel Harris (One Tree Hill) have been dating. It's not really like we didn't see this coming ... but still!

| The Trickster Is Back!

 Many of us are tickled pink that the Trickster (portrayed by Richard Speight Jr.) will again stir the cauldron on Supernatural this week. In Tall Tales, he turned the boys into the Bickersons and threw all kinds of urban legends at them and Bobby. In Mystery Spot, he made Sam's life a living hell (and a bit like Groundhog Day) by killing Dean over and over and over...and over.
In Changing Channels, the Trickster throws the brothers into various TV shows, and they get to sink or swim! This should be a hoot! I say, "Welcome back, Trickster!"

| Supernatural Ratings Are Up!

Plenty of people were in the Halloween mood last week because the DVR ratings for Supernatural were up, big time! According to TV by the Numbers, "The Curious Case of Dean Winchester" gained 39% in adults 18-34, 39% in adults 18-49 and 30% in women 18-34.
This is great news for those of us hoping for another season! Keep putting the word out about Supernatural so we can gain even more viewers in the coming weeks. The Apocalypse storyline will be heating up even more.
